Freephone numbers

Freephone numbers used to be referred to as the 0800 numbers. In the last few years the preferred option is 0333. The reason for this is that 0333 can be called from mobiles without an excess call charge and the 0333 comes off the contract minutes. We can still obtain 0800 or 0808 if required.

Freephone numbers still are great ways to encourage people to call as they know they are not having to pay to do so. Also with a Freephone number it is non geographic so no one needs to know particularly where you are based. Interestingly people are less suspicious about non geographic Freephone numbers than they are with other non geographic and fee earning numbers.

Many businesses use Freephone on their marketing materials because it is a clear sign that they would like the business and are prepared to do what they can to get it and to look after the client. In essence it removes on small, but potentially important obstacle, to the potential customer calling.
